Children's Advocacy Center of Bastrop, Lee & Fayette Counties

Jul 16, 2018

We are proud to support the Children’s’ Advocacy Center of Bastrop, Lee, & Fayette Counties.

The CAC provides services to the most vulnerable of us— children who have witnessed or experienced traumatic events ranging from violent crime to abuse and neglect.

About CAC

The Children’s Advocacy Center serves children and their non-offending family members who have been impacted by child abuse and/or violent crime.

The center was founded in 1992 by a task force of concerned citizens determined to find a better way to serve abused and neglected children while putting the child’s best interests first. During the first years, in a small rented house, a veteran CPS worker volunteered her time and efforts to keep the Advocacy Center operational.

Since then, the center has grown into a fully-functioning hub for a Multi-Disciplinary Team of skilled professionals dedicated to the investigation, treatment, management, and prosecution of child abuse cases.

Their hard work has created a safe place with invaluable resources and services for children and their affected family members escaping dangerous situations.

“You see children come in here broken, and your heart breaks knowing what they’ve gone through,” said Marta Guzman, Victim Advocate with the Children’s Advocacy Center. “But, it’s incredible to watch them grow through the program, and to see them 6 months or a year later walk out of our center as completely different children. Getting to see that positive transformation and be a part of it is amazing.”
