Our employees recently had the opportunity to get their First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
Quick response by trained employees in the workplace can mean the difference between life or death. Even when 911 is called immediately, it can often take seven or eight minutes or longer for EMS to arrive at the location – and that doesn’t account for the time it takes to locate the victim once they arrive. After 10 minutes without emergency care, resuscitation is rarely successful.
Along with CPR and AED training, employees also learned how to recognize signs of a heart attack, stroke, internal bleeding, brain injury, diabetic emergencies, seizures, allergic reactions, asthma, heat exhaustion, heat stroke, hypothermia, frostbite and the difference between a mild choking blockage and a severe choking blockage. We also learned how to take care of burns, control bleeding and shock, and properly remove contaminate gloves.
We would like to thank Johnathan Nitsche, from our Loss Prevention Department, for taking the time to teach some of our team valuable first aid measures, with some laughs along the way.
Be sure to check into First Aid, CPR, and AED training course for you company to take this possibly life-saving step to protect your employees.
